Jet-Lagged Elf

Landed at 4 a.m., asleep on the couch by 4:05, still in a sleep mask and travel pillow. Jet lag hits elves hard.

What you need

  • a sock
  • a strip of paper
  • a sticky note and a pen

How to set it up

  1. Lay your elf on its back on a couch cushion, and curve a sock rolled into a tube around its neck like a travel pillow.
  2. Draw two sleepy closed eyes on a thin strip of paper, lay it over your elf's eyes and tuck the ends under its hat.
  3. Write the note on a sticky note and set it on the cushion beside your elf.

Safety check

Just a sock and paper on a cushion, nothing small or hard, so it's fine with toddlers. Take the pen with you once the note is written. How we check

An elf doll asleep on its back on a couch cushion, wearing a paper sleep mask with drawn closed eyes and a rolled-sock travel pillow, beside a sticky note that starts SHHH! JET LAG.

Note from your elf: SHHH! Jet lag. I flew all night from the North Pole. I'll be wide awake tomorrow!
