Your elf filled everyone's shoes with paper snowballs. Shake them out before school!

A 5-minute idea for The Elf on the Shelf® or any elf doll.

What you need

  • white paper
  • the family's shoes and boots

How to set it up

  1. Crumple whole sheets of white paper into loose snowballs.
  2. Push one or two into each shoe and boot by the door.
  3. Sit your elf beside the shoes with one more snowball in its lap, as if it's still making deliveries.

Safety check

Use whole sheets, crumpled loosely, so the snowballs are too big to fit in a little mouth. How we check

A row of family shoes and boots by a front door, each stuffed with crumpled white paper snowballs, and an elf doll sitting beside them with one more snowball in its lap.

Note from your elf: Brr! It snowed in your shoes overnight. Shake, shake, shake before you go!
