What you need

  • a sheet of paper
  • a marker
  • a mug

How to set it up

  1. Down the left half of a sheet of paper, write YOUR RULES: Please don't touch me. Tell me your wishes. Look for me every morning!
  2. Down the right half, write MY RULES: A new spot every night. No peeking at presents. Always back by breakfast!
  3. Prop the paper against a mug on the breakfast table and sit your elf beside it.

Safety check

Set the mug well back from the table edge, and use a plastic cup if a toddler can reach the table, so a tug on the paper can't pull it down. How we check
