Toilet Paper Finish Line

Your elf raced the stuffed animals across the room and broke through a toilet paper finish line.

A 5-minute idea for The Elf on the Shelf® or any elf doll.

What you need

  • toilet paper
  • painter's tape
  • a few stuffed animals

How to set it up

  1. Tape a strip of toilet paper between the legs of two chairs a few feet apart, at elf height, then tear it in the middle.
  2. Lay your elf just past the torn strip, arms up, with the ends of the paper draped over it.
  3. Line up stuffed animals just behind the line, as if they lost by a nose.

Safety check

Set the race up away from hallways and walkways, so nobody trips over the racers at night. Painter's tape won't mark the chairs. How we check

An elf doll lying with arms up just past a torn strip of toilet paper stretched between two chair legs like a finish line, stuffed animals lined up just behind it.

Note from your elf: I won by a nose! Okay, by the tip of my hat. Still counts!
